The San Diego Air & Space Museum offers a variety of group and individual activities that are tailored to meet the needs of specific grade levels. All programs correlate with the State of California's Academic Content Standards for Science, Math, History/Social Science, and/or Language Arts, as well as the Science Framework for California Public Schools.

The Museum and Your Class

The museum has three different ways to reach you and your students.

  • Educational Museum Tours - Our exhibit galleries have a lifetime of learning opportunities
  • Educational Programs - Fun, hands-on classes for Grades K-12, taught at the San Diego Air & Space Museum or at your venue.
  • Educational Competitions - We do much more than school programs to motivate students! Please look at an exciting new range of competitions and more on this page.

Discounts

With proper identification, teachers receive a 15% discount in the Museum Store on books, posters, models and other educational materials.

Classroom Materials

When you schedule a guided tour, museum class or outreach program, you will receive a packet of pre-visit activities that will help you introduce your students to aerospace history and science and prepare them for their museum visit or outreach experience. In addition, you will receive an outline of aviation and space flight history to help prepare you for questions your students may ask.
